MAP, or the Measure of Academic Progress, is a computerized adaptive test which helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child’s academic growth.
What is MAP growth?
MAP® Growth™ measures what students know and informs what they’re ready to learn next. By dynamically adjusting to each student’s responses, MAP Growth creates a personalized assessment experience that accurately measures performance. Timely, easy-to-use reports help teachers teach, students learn, and administrators lead.
Teachers use them to differentiate instruction and pinpoint individual student needs.
Every question on a MAP Growth assessment is calibrated to our proprietary RIT scale,
educators can trust it to track longitudinal growth.
MAP Growth reports transform raw data into insights that help educators take action.
Growth Over Time
MAP Growth reveals how much growth has occurred between testing events and, when combined with our norms, shows projected proficiency. Educators can track growth through the school year and over multiple years.
MAP in SGIS
Sun of Glory International School has administrated the MAP since 2017 for students of grades 3 to grade 9 in English and Math aligned with CCSS. In 2019, the school added science, as well, aligned with NGSS. Students take three trials: fall, winter, and spring. Action plans are designed in the form instructional approaches and curriculum adjustments, according to the findings of data analysis in the form of collective and individualized programs for both achievers and students who need help. Evaluation of all programs is supervised by school leadership. By the end of 2020, the school will have administered the MAP from K to 9.
